Setelah 5 tahun pergi merantau, kemudian CJ ini di telpon kakanya yang bernama Sweet Johnson. Kakaknya memberik tahu kepada Carl bahwa ibunya telah di bunuh oleh kelompok geng The Ballas. Setelah mendengar cerita dari kakanya, CJ langsung bergegas pulang ke kota San Andreas.
Setelah pulang dari pemakaman ibunya CJ memiliki dendam kepada musuh bubuyutanya yaitu Geng The Ballas. Carl juga memutuskan untuk tidak meninggalkan gengnya lagi, disinilah keseruan dari GTA San Andreas. Kalian akan berperang dengan beberapa geng The Ballas bahkan akan berperang dengan beberapa geng besar lainya. Sebaiknya kalian mengikuti setiap misi yang di berikan game ini, karena akan membuat permainan semakin menarik.
