Some Contacts Won't Download to Ford Sync Phonebook I have a company provided Blackberry Torch on which the phonebook is synchronized with our Exchange Server. So, in my phone contacts, I have ~300 entries. Once you’ve performed a master reset, you’ll need to pair your phone and download your phonebook contacts. If you experience problems with phone pairing after you install the update, try performing a “clean” pairing.
I am in total agreement with you. It is frustrating that Microsoft cannot quit shooting themselves in the foot especially when it comes to Windows Phone. They seem to be much more interested in supporting the competition (Apple/Android phones and tablets) than their own devices.
I too am wondering if there is any plan to upgrade Sync to work better with Windows Phone 8.1 (at least as well as competing phones)??? Cortana connectivity would be a great addition, as would syncing destinations (like it does with the other phones)
My previous Nokia 920 and now my 1020 work well with my 2014 Explorer for most things like Voice Calling and Playing Bluetooth Audio but it frustrates me that I adding a destination is such a pain when I already have it on my phone. I actually set my phone in the cup holder and use it's maps half the time because Sync can't seem to add the destination by voice commands and entering it on the screen is a pain.
Unfortunately thus far rather than support Windows Phone Microsoft would rather put out a new update to improve functionality with the competition rather than create an App for their own phone ecosystem. If Microsoft Supported their Phones they might actually start competing in the smart phone market instead of the Blackberry/Flip Phone market.
One other clue for Microsoft might be to work with Wireless Providers? Go into any store or watch the ads for any provider and there is no indication from them that Windows even has a phone unless you are actually looking at it? I was in Costco and Walmart the other day and went to the ATT counter and there was not a single Windows Phone on display. Go to the site 40 phones to choose from and the Featured list the bottom of the page holds the NEW Lumia 635 and HTC 610 after the 2 1/2 year old Galaxy S3 and aging iPhone 5.
Hopefully this is not a black hole where people can vent and no one at Microsoft will even know.
2013 Ford F150 4.2 Sync system. Iphone 4s IOS 7.1 Microsoft Outlook pushed contacts. The Sync system worked great for 6 months then one day the phone book would only download the first contact on the list, therefore always calling that contact on any voice command. I tried cleaning the phone contacts of any charcters other than alphanumeric, master reset the Sync system, and re- paired the phone. After this Sync will not download any contacts, even manually. Sync support says the system is up to date and the problem is with the phone. FYI: This problem did not correlate with any IOS upgrade. IOS 7 worked great for four months and I recently installed IOS 7.1 in an attempt to fix it. at this point it went back to dialing the first contact that has been since deleted from the phone completely????
